Objectives
Under the current Statutes of "SOS-RTA" association, our main objectives are as follows:
- Preserving the lives, health and property of Bulgarian and foreign citizens
- Organizing and participating in initiatives for prevention of Road traffic accidents /RTA/ in order to significantly reduce their number each year
- Providing assistance and implementation of interaction with the competent authorities of the government administration, local government authorities, insurers and other non-governmental organizations, regarding the improvement of road safety, reduction of the number of and prevention of RTA
- Initiation of proposals for discussion and preparation of opinions in front of legislative bodies for updating and changing road safety-related legislation, insurance, as well as regulations in the field
- Preparation of proposals to insurers for unification of procedures and documents for the conclusion of insurance contracts, registration of insurance events, liquidation of damages and payment of benefits
- Raising the awareness and training of children, students and other citizens for prevention of RTA and reduction of their harmful consequences, as well as other insurance events
- Analysis of the practice of insurance and other companies regarding the performance of their obligations under insurance contracts to avoid and prevent infringement of the rights of the insured persons and victims of RTA
- Analysis of the judicial practice in cases, in which an insurance or another company has refused voluntary payment of compensation to an injured person
- Public disclosure of violations in the practice of insurance and other companies of payment of insurance benefits
- Improving the legal and insurance culture of the citizens through informing them and explaining their rights and obligations to them in relation to insurance contracts and the occurrence of RTA or another insurance event
- Assistance and protection of the legal rights of citizens, injured in a RTA or another insurance event, in front of law enforcement authorities, government and municipal authorities, insurance and other companies and the rest of the civil organizations
- Legal advice to citizens, victims of RTA or another insurance event
- Assistance to obtain compensation from insurance and other companies in case of occurrence of an insurance event
- Interaction with international organizations with similar aims and activities
- Achieving European Union standards in this field
- Active interaction with leading medical institutions for the provision of competent medical assistance to victims of RTA.
