Pedestrians
The driver of the vehicle is obliged to be careful and cautious towards pedestrians, especially towards children, people with disabilities, particularly to blind people who are walking with a white cane, as well as to elderly people. When approaching the place where there are children on the road or in proximity to it, the driver is obliged to reduce the speed, and, if necessary - to stop. When approaching the pedestrian crossing, the driver of a non-rail road vehicle is obliged to give way to pedestrians having set foot on the pedestrian crossing or walking on it by reducing the speed or stopping. When going round a road vehicle, having stopped in front of a pedestrian crossing, the driver of the non-rail road vehicle is obliged to drive with such speed as to be able to stop, give way to the pedestrians, crossing at the pedestrian crossing.
The pedestrian crossing is a part of road lane, contoured or not with road markings and signalled with road signs, intended for passage of pedestrians. At crossings the pedestrian crossings are the continuations of sidewalks and roadsides on the road lane. When the passage of pedestrians along the pedestrian crossing is regulated by road traffic lights or a traffic policeman, the driver is obliged, after the signal for allowing passage is shown, to give way to pedestrians, who are still on the pedestrian crossing and not to cross the pedestrian crossing, if he thinks it is possible to be forced to stop, and remain on the pedestrian crossing after the signal for prohibition of passage is shown.
